Blog Meme: HAPPY 101 Award

Olive from Movie News First kindly tagged me for this meme. I’ve been meme-ing a lot this month, but I’m slacking off on this one (sorry Olive). Well, the idea of this Happy 101 Award is to share the things that bring you joy. Ok, here goes:

1. Great music on Sunday mornings. My church has a great worship band and their upbeat, rousing music and uplifting message definitely makes my soul sings!

2. My husband… I don’t just love him, I like him… and trust me, that’s almost more important in any marriage 🙂

3. Low-humidity Summer days! Nothing kills a perfectly nice sunny days like a sticky, humid air.

4. Movies… duh! How dull would life be without ’em, and surely the blogosphere would be a lonely place without ’em, too.

5. Blogging… double duh! Sure I complain about how much time it takes, but obviously it makes me happy or I won’t be doing this 🙂

6. Travel. There’s few joys in life that match the feeling of being in a place you’ve always dreamed to be in, and savoring the moment of everything that’s new and exciting around you.

7. Sleep! I feel sorry for people with insomnia, as nothing beats a good night’s sleep. The moment when lights are off and there’s a nice, soft pillow under my head is heavenly!

8. Indonesian and Thai food! There’s practically zero Indo restaurants where I live sadly, so my indulgences are sumptuous Thai fried rice or pad woon sen (like pad thai but with thin, rice noodles)

9. Starbucks’ iced Chai with skim milk and whip cream on top. [Yes, I’m aware that I’m a girl of contradictions] I’m not a dessert person and I don’t like chocolate, but I don’t think I can get through my week without this sumptuous drink!

10. Hanging out with friends over coffee/tea. One of life’s best joys is sharing about life and loves over your favorite drink.

So, now I have to pass it onto ten other bloggers. Well, some of you might’ve already been tagged already, which means you have to do this meme for sure 🙂

    1. He..he.. I think the ‘like’ part gets overlooked a lot, that’s what I wonder sometimes in star-crossed lovers. When the fireworks stop, is there anything left to keep it going, y’know? 🙂

Hey, I just had to mention that as yesterday and this morning the weather is just pitch perfect, Castor… it’s rare surely, but when it happens it’s heavenly!

      1. I know!!!!!!!! Cool in the evening and at night, warm during the day with plenty of sunshine and low humidity, perfect! Hope it lasts but this is Minnesota, we will probably be back to 100 dew point in a day or two lol

        1. Yeah, we gotta enjoy it while it lasted. I don’t mind MN weather though, always keep you on your toes as you never know what you’ll get every day 🙂

  2. oh, thanks for this lovely honour, Flixy 🙂 I shall display the award immediately over at my sidebar award shelf for whole world to see it 🙂 I hope the press won’t bug me too much for interviews after your crazy award afterparty 😉

    I also like the love/like point 🙂

  3. I love travelling too:) I love Ireland, but what I love even more is going on holiday for a couple of weeks every year, heaven! And I’m envious about your good nights sleep. For someone who has insomnia pretty much all the time, would love to get a couple of more hours sleep everyday.

    1. Thanks again for the tag, Olive. If I live in Ireland, I probably don’t need to travel too much 🙂 Just kidding, I’m sure no matter how beautiful your city is, we always want to (and should) explore what else is out there.

I’m sorry to hear you have insomnia! For me, my problem isn’t sleeping, it’s waking up early in the morning… especially in cold Winter days…

  4. we have 2 same happy things 🙂 movies and blogging.

yeaaa for Indonesian food. I have a Dutch blogger friend, and she loves Indonesian food and fortunately Dutch has many Indonesian food restaurant. And she cooks our food too sometimes.

  5. Memes are interesting content when done right, and can give you an insight into others personalities and histories that you wouldn’t ordinarily have access to.

  6. Love the list, Ruth! I enjoyed doing this meme too. You learn a little something about each blogger. Very nice. I am no fan of Starbucks, but travel, sleep and chatting with friends over coffee are awesome picks!!!
