Everybody’s Chattin’ … and an [FB] announcement

Happy Friday everyone!

Not only is the weekend almost here, Pixar’s BRAVE has arrived, yay! My hubby and I are going to see it tonight.

Move over Rapunzel, I think Princess Merida has the most glorious hair ever!

Now, before I get to the links, I just want to apologize for skipping the Everybody’s Chattin’ post last month. I know most of you probably don’t even notice it but for me, the best part about blogging is the community aspect and I really appreciate my friends who have done so regularly, like Ryan [my inspiration], Sam, Pete, Sati, and my pal Terrence’s Happy Haps. I love spreading link loves, I mean that’s what makes this blogging thing go around 😀

Paula’s FCM Blogathon #2
FCM stands for Future Classic Movies and following the success of the first blog-a-thon, Paula is now at it again with its second round. Check out which film made her list and other bloggers’ selections.
Terrence’s BRAVE review
I’m so jealous that he’s seen the movie already. Check out what he thinks of the latest from Pixar, certainly one of my most anticipated from the year.
John’s historical figure roles suggestion for Leonardo DiCaprio
Inspired by his recent viewing of J Edgar, John thinks up even more 20th century historical figures for him to tackle! Leo should definitely give him a call 😀
Lady Sati’s Appreciation for Jean Dujardin
One of the most beautifully-designed blogs out there, Sati’s recently made a wonderful tribute on my favorite French actor right now. Ladies, you better sit down first 😉
Fernando’s Ridley Scott Double Bill
The Alien movie must be getting a lot of play this weekend with the release of Prometheus. Check out why Fernando likes both for different reasons.
Kristin’s Double Reviews
I LOVE it when people do a post of two VERY different movies, that’s what Kristin did with her reviews of Prometheus and Rock of the Ages.

Now on to the announcement! Well, isn’t it obvious… I finally bite the bullet after resisting it for a couple of years… FlixChatter is now on Facebook!!

Thanks to those who have LIKED me, now for the rest of you, would be a dear and do so please? I’d sincerely appreciate it 😀

So what are you going to see this weekend? Whatever you do, hope you have a good one!

  1. Welcome to Facebook, Ruth! I just joined up myself a couple months ago. It’s helped give me a little boost in traffic.

Not sure what I will be seeing this weekend. I still want to catch Bernie and Moonrise Kingdom, but I don’t know if I will get a chance. Hope you enjoy Brave!

    1. Thanks Eric! Did you start yours as a Page or a personal FB? I specifically wanted it as a Page as it’s more about my blog than about me.

I’m hoping to catch Moonrise Kingdom in the next 2 weeks. Don’t think I’m interested in Bernie, though my colleague raved about it.

  2. As for Brave, not interested at this point. All the trailers managed to completely turn me off by convincing me the movie was completely ordinary non-Pixar junk. Hope you like it though, then you can advocate for me to check it out ah! 😉

    1. Hey, did you forget the Japanese trailer I posted? That one looked really good and I think the movie will be more in that vein instead of the US trailers/clips.

  3. Ted S.

Yeah I think it’s great that Flixchatter is finally on Facebook, it’s a good place to be. 🙂 I know these days it’s cool to bash Facebook but I think it’s still a good place to be “social” with people you don’t see that often in life.

I’m finally don’t have any plans this weekend, so I hope I can see Prometheus. I wrapped up my audition with the actresses and the hard part is telling the ones who didn’t get the part.

Hope you’ll enjoy Brave, I’ll probably rent it.

    1. Yeah I figure it’s still a good way to get traffic to here. I used to have a personal FB account but I never use ’em.

I’m curious to hear what you think of Prometheus!

  4. Thanks Ruth for linking to my Ridley Scott Double Bill! So nice of you 🙂

Oh and I agree, Merida has the best hair!

And I don’t know what I’ll be seeing this weekend. It’s my birthday on Saturday and I’ll be celebrating starting tomorrow, so probably no films for me this weekend. Unless, of course, I receive some as gifts!

  5. Thanks for the mention Ruth! Well done for getting on FB, still haven’t made a proper page for my blog on there! and thanks for pointing me to that Leo as historical figures post! Hadn’t read that one! Enjoy Brave!

    1. Hi Pete, hey it’s never too late man. I figure it’d be good to increase traffic over here 😀 Yeah, that Leo post is fun isn’t it? That John is just brilliant 🙂

  6. So jealous that you’re going to see Brave this weekend! It premieres at the Edinburgh International Film Festival next week, but doesn’t open in Scotland until 3 August. 😦
Looking forward to reading your review!

    1. Oh I’m surprised you guys in the UK didn’t get it first, it seems as if everything now opens on the other side of the pond first, like Avengers, Prometheus, etc. August is such a long time though, bummer!

  7. Gah, Brave isn’t out here until August. Hate that Pixar films take MONTHS to get here 😦

    Facebook? Facebook…. G+ is the future 😉

    1. Like I said above, I’m really surprised you Britons didn’t get it first.

Ahah, I might join G+ too as I have a Gmail account.

  8. Thank you so much for the link! btw I love the design of this post with the colorful frames and everything. I love sharing links and checking the ones others post, it’s such a great way to find new wonderful posts and blogs.

    1. You’re so welcome, Sati! Why thanks for your kind words about the design, that’s a lot coming from you 😀 I did it once in the past, I think I’m gonna stick with this format for Everybody’s Chattin’

  9. sanclementejedi

Glad to see you finally took the Facebook plunge Ruth. Also looking forward to checking out Brave this weekend with my little man 🙂

  10. PrairieGirl

Whooo! I should have taken your warning about sitting down before seeing Jean Dujardin at Cinematic Corner! Sit down is right, and add a cold shower to boot! He is lovely through and through ;-D

  11. I like the box style you use there for the links, Ruth… very nice presentation.

Glad you hopped on to Facebook, it’s just another way to remind people “Hey, I posted something new!” 😀 I see you’ve already linked up your autoposts, so you should be good to guh-zo!! 😀

    1. Thanks Fogs! Actually for some reason WordPress has not connected me to FB, so I still do it manually. I’ve already set it up under Setting and it said that I’m now connected but it’s not working. Any tips?

  12. Liked 🙂 I’ve been meaning to do that as well I started one day and then totally abandoned it … so much for follow through.

I know you have been eagerly anticipating Brave for a minute now. It does look like good fun. But I may pass this weekend to chillax.

  13. I have just finished Doctor Who 🙂 and writing my review now.
I am not planning to see anything yet…probably Flowers of War when it is out of Midnight schedule.

  14. Paula

Thanks so much for the FCM love, Ruth. You are always such a sweetheart 😀 i feel like an idiot for missing Jean du Jardin’s birthday

  15. So I am WAY too late in commenting on here, but THANK YOU for the shout out! I appreciate it, Ruth. And I am loving the fact that Flixchatter is on Facebook — finally, I say! Happy to see you on there.
