Hello, hello! Y’all are probably busy watching the Globes tonight just like me as I’m posting this. But hey, just like my hubby said, half of the entire 3+ hours is filled with ads anyway, which means you have more than enough time to get to your computer and vote for the debut of the glitziest award just entering the blogosphere. It’s none other than …

ScarletSp1der’s RED WEB AWARDS!

Cast your vote on ScarletSp1der's RED WEB AWARDS!Since the Golden Globes have not met up to his expectations (nor mine), the scarlet web slinger decided to host his own “Golden Globe Awards” of sorts, in which you get to help participate and choose the winners. This prestigious award, entitled The RED WEB AWARD, gives homage to the dedication, cinematic success, inspiration, and amazement of the nominees.

THANK YOU to the awesome blogger and personal friend Terrence, Mr. Scarlet Spider for letting be a part of the judging panel, along with Castor@Anomalous Material and three loyal readers of TheScarletSp1der blog.

So don’t wait a moment longer, cast your vote now by first clicking the image above. The polls will be open until Wednesday night. You can vote up until then. Results will post on Friday, January 21!

Well, just cast my votes, but have to admit there are movies I’m not interested in or haven’t seen, and had no clues about directors. Parts of TGG were very stale, both the show, nominees and films/TV themselves. The high points for me were seeing a relatively well-looking Michael Douglas, The Pillars of the Earth miniseries being mentioned twice, and Colin Firth winning best actor for The King’s Speech.

    1. PrairieGirl! Thank you very much for visiting and casting your votes! The GGs were disappointing with their nominations and it was fun putting together The Red Web Awards instead! Congrats to all the winners! and thanks again!

    2. Thanks for voting Becky! Yeah I know you usually wait until the dvd for most of these but thanks for taking part anyway. I’ll post my GG highlights (it’s gonna be a short post) and seeing Michael looking so well is one of the highlights for me as well.

  2. Ruth! Thank you! The Red Web Awards wouldn’t have been as great or as fun without you and Castor! Love having you as a major part! What did you think of the GG’s, now that they’ve ended?

    1. My pleasure, T! Sorry I posted it rather late but I tweeted all night along with everyone else during the Globes so I thought it was a good time to advertise our own award 😉 GG is just one big party, there were only a couple of highlights for me, like Bale winning for The Fighter, finally! But it’d have been more enjoyable WITHOUT Gervais 😦

  3. I thought I would break my TV after the third block of adds during the Globes in just 30 minutes or so … I gave up after the first hour, since it was 3am in Europe … And plus this was the worst Globe ceremony ever …. only the host was cool 🙂

      1. Well you could say Golden Globes is kinda unnecessary (I mean just look at the laughable nominees!) but Gervais was out of line so many times I lost count. I agree with Robert Downey about the mean-spirited and sinister remark. I hope RDJ would host next time… or anybody else for that matter.

Oh, I am so with you on Gervais, he really went too far this time. Can’t remember what other award show he hosted recently, but after that one I can’t see why anyone would let him do another! I would love to see Neil Patrick Harris host.

          1. I think NPH hosted the Emmys? I don’t mind him but RDJ gets my vote, at least he could be funny and a bit naughty without insulting people.

@ Dezzy, I just think his jokes were in poor taste. Even Tom Hanks & Tim Allen later jeered at all his unkind remarks, including biting the hand that fed him (poking fun at the association president about him being an old man). I hope he won’t host anything else after this.

  4. I recorded the Globes so I could fast-forward all the ads and silly speeches. Really only watched the intros and Ricky Gervais. However, I did see Christian Bales acceptance which was the worst of them all – great actor but he does love himself!

Best intro – Bruce Willis – “Ashton Kucher’s Dad”
Best award intro – Robert Downey Jr. – hilarious!

It was nice to see De Niro and Pacino both bet recognised on the same night.
