Random Thoughts: Christmas Decoration of the Year!

Someone sent this to my hubby over the weekend and I just had to share. Although it’s not exactly movie-related, it made me think how this could’ve been a scene straight out of a Chevy Chase or Tim Allen Christmas flick.

READ STORY FIRST BEFORE SEEING PICTURE BELOW!
(Trust me, it’s more rewarding that way)

Well, there is good news and bad news about my Christmas decorations this year. Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas decorations. The bad news is that I had to take him down after 2 days. I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever. Great stories.

But two things made me take it down. First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.

Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn’t realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy). By the way, she was one of many people who attempted to do that. My yard couldn’t take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard.

Kind of feel like I gave in to the man by taking him down but my neighbor did confirm two near miss accidents on the busy street next to my house. I think I made him too real this time.

So it was fun while it lasted.

….

Ok, ready?

….

Here goes. Is it any wonder he had to take it down?

  1. OMG that is so totally awesome, I am so glad I read the story first and yes it was totally worth it. Talk about away to turn heads in the street!!

    1. Yeah, I can imagine how dangerous it is as it looks so darn real. I giggle just picturing how people would slam on their breaks and drive right up to the front door. Well at least it’s nice to know there are still caring people in the world wanting to help someone in need 🙂

      1. Yeah that is a very good point, instead of people just driving past thinking someone else will help them. But yes also dangerous, still brilliant though, love it. 🙂

  2. LOL! That’s awesome. Glad nothing happened to that 55 year old lady who somehow managed with that extremely heavy ladder. Hmm, she obviously works out. The picture also reminds me of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, which is required viewing every Christmas, along with A Christmas Story.

    1. I love how the guy said about the lady after she reached the top and realized it was only a dummy that ‘she was not happy.’ Hope she didn’t get a lawyer and sue him for emotional distress, he..he…

Yeah it totally could come from the Lampoon franchise, this is one true story (at least I think it is) that’s even better than in the movies!
