Happy Friday everybody!
Aren’t you excited the weekend is here? For us in the US, it’s the weekend before Thanksgiving already, it’s nuts how fast time flies! Well this year my hubby and I are spending Thanksgiving apart, actually it’ll be thousands of miles apart as he just flew to Jakarta whilst I’ll be visiting my BFF in San Diego, hence I’ll be taking a blog hiatus next week, well apart from a special Thanksgiving post for next Thursday 😀
Well, I figure that for this month’s edition of Everybody’s Chattin‘, I’d highlight some great reviews from my fellow bloggers that I haven’t seen or written the review yet. So here we go:
New Releases
Sati, Terrence and Keith reviewed 12 Years A Slave
Chris reviewed Philomena
Eric reviewed Enough Said
Ryan reviewed Dallas Buyers Club
Mark H. reviewed Saving Mr. Banks
Josh reviewed About Time, whilst Nick and Colin talks time-travelin’
in their Double Team Review
Now, some older films, classic and otherwise…
Mark reviewed Moon
Zoë reviewed Mud
Nick reviewed On The Road
James reviewed Prince Avalanche
Steven reviewed The Apartment
(one I REALLY should’ve watched by now!)
Well, this weekend I’m going to skip the cinema again, I’ll wait until my hubby is back in town so we can watch Hunger Games: Catching Fire together. So it’s home cinema all weekend, I’m actually planning to watch Mary Poppins! Can you believe it I’ve never seen that before? I figure I should see it before the Saving Mr. Banks screening next week 😀
So what’s your weekend viewing plans, folks? Whatever you do, have a fabulous weekend!
Thanks for linking to me!
And you’re going to like Mary Poppins, no matter Van Dyke’s accent. It really is an adorable film.
I think I will too, I mean I adore Julie Andrews!
Who doesn’t?
Even my five year old loves her. (She often tells me I don’t sing as well as Julie Andrews and should just stop.)
Ahahaha, well very few people sing as well as her anyway 😀
Thanks so much! Talk about being in some good company. Lots of good writers included. Looks like I need some new reading to do.
Well YOU are one of those stellar writers yourself Keith! 😀 Yeah, SO many reviews I haven’t written yet, I’m such a slacker!
Thanks for that! 🙂 Hope you have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving week. Enjoy your time with your friend. I love Thanksgiving weekend.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving to you too, I have LOTS to be thankful for. In fact I’ll be posting a ‘thankful’ post for next week 😀
Thanks for the link and have fun on your holidays Ruth! 🙂
Thanks Sati! Enjoy your weekend too!
Nice link ups. I have so much to see. Have a fun weekend.
Hey you too, Andrew!
Fly safe, be safe!
Thanks Cindy!
Excellent post Ruth, and all the better for including my good self. 🙂 Many thanks my friend!
Always a pleasure Mark! I’ll be away most of next week but hopefully you’ll stop by to my Thanksgiving post 😀 Have a great weekend, my friend!
Have a fun Thanksgiving Ruth! I don’t have any plans to see any new movie this weekend, I planned to see Catching Fire tonight but my girlfriend has to work. So I think we’ll go see it next Monday or Tuesday, by then it won’t be too busy. I want us to have good seats at the IMAX theater. My streak of not paying to see a movie there continues, ha ha.
Yeah, just see it on weekday Ted, otherwise it’ll be packed w/ teeny boppers! I think it’ll be slower by the time I go see it in December.
Hope you have a great time, and a Happy Thanksgiving, in S.D., Ruth. 🙂
Thanks Michael! I was gonna see if we could meet up but I don’t want to take you away from your families on Thanksgiving. Have a blessed one, my friend!
You should make it a Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke weekend. Start with the pair in Mary Poppins, then see Andrews in Sound of Music (but you probably have already), and Van Dyke in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (one of my favorite flicks as a kid). Makings of an awesome weekend!
Ahah, that’s a funny title Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I have seen Sound of Music, it’s one of my faves! I think I’ll just go w/ Mary Poppins for now Gene 😀 Have a great weekend, man!
OMG, I can’t believe you’ve never watched Mary Poppins! It’s amazing! Viewing plans for me: Catching Fire in a couple of hours and I don’t know what I’ll watch during Saturday or Sunday.
Very excited for next week. A friend is having Thanksgiving dinner at her house, so I’ve got that for Thursday. But I’ve also got two VERY anticipated concerts on Tuesday and Wednesday!
How long will you be in SD? I’d love to meet up! 🙂
Hi Fernando! Ahah yeah, there are SO many classics I missed out on apparently.
Btw sounds like we’ll be chatting in person next week, looking forward to that!! 😀
Me too!
Thanks for the link love. Tomorrow I’m going to see Hello, I Must Be Going and on Sunday, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire starring Jena Malone aka THE BEST IN THE WORLD and Thor: The Dark World.
Hi Steven! Sounds like you’ve got a great weekend viewing plans in store. How’s Catching Fire? It’ll be another 2 weeks before I see that one.
Well, here’s my review.
Cool! I just posted my comment. Check out my friend Ashley’s review, she loved it too! 😀
Thanks so much for the link, Ruth! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and safe travels!
Thanks Eric, I don’t usually travel during the holidays but I’m excited to hang out with my best friend!
Ruth! Great viewing choices. And thank you for the kind link. I hope you enjoy your hiatus. I find great value in taking breaks. Even though you both will be apart, I trust your holidays will still be wonderful.
hope you are well.
Hi T, my pleasure! Yeah I feel a bit burned out but fortunately I’ve got a guest review of Catching Fire to post tomorrow. I’m looking forward to a bit of rest, hope you’re well too my friend!
You’ll enjoy Mary Poppins, Ruth. And no, I can’t believe you’re never seen it. Such a classic, such a great film.
Have a great break too. Come back refreshed, okay?
Ahah yeah, I’m surprised I haven’t seen that one. Thanks Rodney, sorry I haven’t been commenting but as you know I don’t have anything to say about horror flicks 😀
Thanks for the link, Ruth! Enjoy your holiday hiatus. You really should watch The Apartment, by the way. 😉
Hi Josh, it was a great time off, best Thanksgiving ever 😀 Yeah I know, hopefully soon!
I should have announced that I am also on hiatus 😉
Last months of the school is so hectic I hardly have time to reply my own blog 😦
Enjoy your stay with your BFF 🙂
I hear ya Nov. I didn’t have much time to watch movies either this past month. It was an awesome trip and I got to enjoy some quality time w/ my BFF. We went to the same Jr High, SMP Assisi in Tebet area 😀
Wow…you two live in US now! Hahaha from same jr high to same country 🙂
I am going to be less busy soon….Thank God 🙂
Yeah, she used to live closer to me in Chicago but still nice that we’re both in the US.
Glad to hear you’re gonna be less busy, so more blogging time then? 😉
I hope so 🙂
I am planning to prepare as much blog post as possible before school holiday starts
