THIS JUST IN! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 – Trailer 2

Apparently the trailer is up already, and by golly does it look epic! And the scene of the fashion-challenged Harry septuplet is in there, too 😀

Voldemort’s power is growing stronger. He now has control over the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione decide to finish Dumbledore’s work and find the rest of the Horcruxes to defeat the Dark Lord. But little hope remains for them, so everything they do must go as planned.

I’m a relatively new HP fan, and this trailer looks incredibly exciting and making me giddy with anticipation. Voldemort is like the Darth Vader of the new millennium and he doesn’t hold back his desire to finally finish off ‘the boy who lived.’ I get goosebumps every time I hear him hiss, “I’ve seen your heart… and it is mine.”

Though I can hardly wait to watch the conclusion of the series, I’m glad they decided to split this into two parts. The movies are kind of a summary of the books, according to a friend of mine who’ve read them all, so naturally they try to jam pack as much material into a 2-hour feature film. Hopefully they won’t feel so rushed this time, and the series will end on a high note!

The ubiquitous Bill Nighy joins the already awesome ensemble of British cast: Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Ralph Fiennes, Bill Nighy, Tom Felton, Michael Gambon and David Thewlis. It’s also amusing to see the trio of young lead actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson all grown up now, I mean they all literally grew up on the set of these HP films since it started a decade ago!

What do you think, all? Anybody else as excited as I am to see this one?

  1. I am NOT as excited as you are. The dissapointment from reading the 7th book has made me stopped watching the movie. I haven’t watched the 6th movie either, because that movie came out after the 7th book.

Harry Potter is a great journey with terrible ending. J.K really doesn’t know how to end a book nicely.

    1. Sorry to hear that, Nov. But I had another friend told me the same thing just last night. I haven’t read the book myself, not sure if I’ll ever have time to get to all of them.

Terrible ending huh? How do you mean? Is it too bleak or you think she didn’t do a good job at tying everything together?

      1. The later. It’s like she is forcing it to end like that. I can tell you the ending because that’ll be a spoiler…let’s just say after I read it I was saying ‘eh? this is how it ends? maksa amat ya!’ (hehehe don’t know how to say it in English)

Then again, maybe it’s just an opinion of someone who loves unpredictable ending 😉

  2. Not to go all “I’m a bigger fan than you are” on you, but dude. I was at a midnight showing for HP1, however many years ago that was now. It was incredible. Every single one of the trailers for these movies gives me chills and makes me all giddy. I hardly ever think about Harry Potter any more, but I still get totally stoked for these movies.

    So yeah, me too. 🙂

    1. Well, you probably are a bigger fan than me, considering I just got on to the franchise this past Summer.

Have you seen all the HP movies in the theaters Sam? This will be my first!

    1. Hey Fitz, I was just saying the same thing to a friend of mine who’ve read all the books. He said the first two were geared for younger audience, but then got darker and darker after that. I mean, as I was watching the 3rd or 4th film (I just had an HP marathon with my husband a few months ago), I kept thinking, well even I’m a bit spooked by some of the scenes, how will KIDS handle those?? I know if I had young kids, I probably would have reservations about letting ’em see these flicks.

  3. Oh Emma you grow more and more ravishing every year

But anyways, the movie looks good. Although i hope that the movie can handle the…uhhh, darkness right. It seems like it could end up looking silly if it isn’t done right

    1. He..he… Emma is pretty cute. Did you see her latest photo with a pixie cut? She said she’s always wanted to cut her hair but couldn’t because of the movies, so now that it’s done she finally did it. She looks totally different now.

  4. Susan

I have seen every Harry Potter movie that’s been out so far and I have to admit, I just cannot get into them. I don’t know what it is, but I find myself dozing off or thinking about my outfit choices for the following week or whatever. I literally force myself to watch them! That being said, I am going to watch the other ones that come out, but I am not super excited about it.

    1. Ha..ha.. glad to hear I’m not the only one thinking about outfit choices as I’m watching a movie 😀 I actually like these movies more than I thought… and was quite engrossed in them. But then again I LOVE British actors and there are quite a few of them in there.
